The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, celebrating its 27th year as a leading center for cancer research,
is recruiting outstanding basic science faculty at the Assistant, Associate and Professor levels to join
established programs in Molecular and Cellular Cancer Biology, Cancer Virology, and Cancer
Immunology. These programs are internationally recognized for breakthrough research in genome
stability, cellular responses to stress, cell death pathways, cancer virus discovery, viral contributions
to cancer, cancer immunology and the tumor microenvironment, cancer immunotherapy and cancer
Successful candidates will have an exceptional scientifc research record and will join in tenure-track
or tenured faculty positions that are commensurate with prior training and experience. A competitive

Faculty Position in Bacteriology
Department of Microbiology-Immunology
The Department of Microbiology-Immunology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
level within the broad feld of bacteriology. Applicants in the felds of antibiotic resistance, bacterial
pathogenesis, benefcial microbes, and host-pathogen interactions are particularly encouraged to apply.
Quali-ed candidates are expected to have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree as well as postdoctoral
training. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous, extramurally
funded research program and to participate in our strong graduate and medical student training programs.
All applicants should have substantial peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate productivity and
the ability to perform cutting edge research. Candidates for an Assistant Professor position should have
current or pending external funding, which could include an NIH K level award. Candidates at the
Associate Professor or Full Professor level should have substantial research productivity, current grant
support and academic service. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in
research and scholarship. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art research facilities.
