for future achievement and leadership in research. HHMI seeks to appoint up to 20 outstanding scientists as
• PhD and/or MD (or the equivalent)
• Tenured or tenure-track position as an assistant professor or higher academic rank (or the equivalent) at an eligible U.S. institution
• More than 3, but no more than 12, years of post-training, professional experience
• Principal investigator on one or more active, national, peer-reviewed research grants with an initial duration of at least 3 years

Director and Professor, The RNA Institute, College of Arts and Sciences
The University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for the position of Director of The RNA Institute. Reporting to the Dean of
the College of Arts and Sciences, the Director should have a background in the broad area of RNA science and technology. He or she is expected to take
the lead in shaping the future of the Institute, articulating a vision that defnes its standard of excellence, mentoring young faculty and evolving the Institute
to the next level of scientifc distinction.
The RNA Institute serves as a resource for research and discovery https://www.rna.albany.edu. Work is focused on developing tools and analytics with
applications to biotechnology, disease models and interventions. Current research strengths include RNA structure and function, RNA-based determinants
of gene regulation, RNA-linked components of disease etiology and RNA-based therapeutics.
The Institute is a joint venture backed by university, corporate, and government entities in New York’s Capital Region. Housed in newly constructed space, the
Institute is located in the interdisciplinary Life Sciences Research Building http://www.albany.edu/lifesciences/index.shtml and fnanced by state, federal and
corporate funds. The Institute is well staffed and equipped with an advanced instrumentation facility, a mass spectrometry center and a computational facility.
