The Department of Biology at Texas State University ( www.bio.txstate.edu) invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Microbiology. The successful
candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in the
Department of Biology and develop an externally funded research program that complements the existing strengths of our 34-member faculty. Required qualifcations are a
Ph. D. in Microbiology or related life sciences, postdoctoral experience, and a publication
record in microbiology. Preferred qualifcations are a record of extramural funding to
support research, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and experience in research
complementing the research strengths of the Department. The successful candidate is
expected to teach one course per semester in virology or immunology. Salary and start-up package are negotiable.
